The calculator

The RRIF calculator runs entirely in your browser. The numbers you type into it are not sent to us or anyone else. When you use "Copy link", your inputs are added to the part of the address after the # sign. Browsers do not send that part to the server, but anyone you share the link with can see the figures.

Cookies and analytics

This site does not use cookies, analytics, ads or tracking scripts, and it loads no third-party scripts or fonts. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard technical request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use that data to identify or profile you.

The free plan review form

The "Free RRIF drawdown plan review" form below the calculator results is the only part of the site that sends information to us, and only when you submit it. Some fields are filled in from your calculator inputs so you do not have to type them again; nothing is sent until you press "Request my free review". We collect:

• your name and email address
• your province or territory, approximate RRIF balance and age
• your phone number, if you choose to give it
• a record of your consent and the consent wording you agreed to, the date and time, the page you used, your browser type, and the country your request came from

We do not store your IP address with your request. The form also contains a hidden field and a timestamp that help us filter out automated spam.

Why we collect it and who sees it

We use this information only to arrange the free RRIF drawdown plan review you asked for. With your consent, given by ticking the box on the form, we may share it with a licensed financial planner, who may contact you about the review. We do not share it with anyone else for any other purpose, and we do not sell it. The planner may pay us a referral fee; see our disclosure.

Where it is stored and for how long

Requests are stored with Cloudflare, our hosting provider. Its servers may be outside Canada, so your information may be subject to the laws of other countries. We keep requests for up to 24 months, then delete them.

Your choices

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Email [email protected]. For general questions about the site, email [email protected]. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
